Analysts have long predicted the death of the home PC market. Of course, in business, people shall continue to use PCs and Macs, but businesses usually only update their hardware when absolutely necessary, to avoid the disruption of productivity. Since the early 90s, PC manufacturers have made the majority of their money from the home market, with people buying new computers to carry on their work at home, and since the mid to late nineties, to surf the internet.
