Skytex is a Los Angeles based company that supplies new technology and innovative electronics on a global range. So far, their Android operated Skypad Alpha and Windows OS Skytab have been highly appreciated all over the world. Skytex distributes their products throughout North and South America and expanded as far as Europe and Asia. Their work has been extremely well received, with cutting edge technology and quality products and services delivered over the past two years. Therefore, Skytex has developed a new tablet, due at the middle of December, with attractive features and really appealing software: SKYPAD ALPHA 2.
The device will be equipped with a 7 inch, 5 point capacitive touchscreen display with resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, perfectly fit in the frame of 197mm x 121mm x 12.5mm. Pop the hood and find a Cortex-A8 1.2 GHz ARM processor and 512 MB of RAM. A major plus on this model is the top notch graphic design to boost the gaming experience, all this made possible by the Mali 400 MP GPU – 3D graphic engine. Internal memory will be up to 4 GB, with the possibility of expanding as far as 32 GB through the Micro SD card. To talk about ins and outs, the Skypad Alpha 2 will be equipped with the classic 3.5mm earphone jack, a mini USB OTG 2.0 port and a 3MP front facing camera; the device being compatible with plug-and –play mice, keyboards and USB memory sticks. The front facing camera and built in microphone are perfectly suited to make communication with friends easy, and the numerous apps will help as well.
The Wi-Fi connection is classic 802.11 b/g/n and surprisingly the Bluetooth has been replaced with a HDMI port. In all fairness, this is an impressive addition and the Skytex people have made a great choice, as the HDMI is one of the modern features many people would prefer on their tablets and the majority of devices fall short of.
Due to its operating system – Android 2.3- and the partnership between Skytex and 1Mobile, the Skytab Alpha 2 will have free access to over 200,000 applications and entertaining games, available only for Android operated devices. A question on our mind is: why hasn’t Skytex equipped its brand new, top notch tablet with the latest version of Android? The Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 has just been released and would be perfect for the Skypad Alpha 2. However, the company promises a system update in the beginning of 2012 and that is great news for Skytex users.
The California-based company will officially release the cool device on December 20th 2011 and intents to retail it at the competitive price of $199. The cost for the all new Skytex device places it in the same league as other appreciated tablets such as the Kobo Vox and its features transform it into a serious rival.
In a few days, this slick tablet will be out, just in time for Christmas and also, great news for Canada – special offers for Boxing Day. Kids will love it for its amazing graphic platform that will boost their gaming experience and parents will find it extremely useful for their everyday needs: listening to music, reading a good eBook and enjoying some of the hundred thousand free apps.
The new eBook reader launched by Onyx is bound to stun with its impressive features. The device is making its way into the United States rather slowly, but people from across Europe and Asia can lay their hands on this beauty quite easily.
