For people looking to buy 10 inch Android 4.0 tablets but don’t want to throw a lot of money to the matter, out now on the market are the Idolian Touchtab 10 and Zenithink C91 Android tablet, probably the most cost efficient choices available now.
Amazon is selling both Idolian Touchtab 10 and Zenithink C91 for just $169 each. They are made in China and their appearance is identic, with the exception of the brand name which is embedded on the back side. Like other low cost 4.0 tablets available on the market, these two also boast 1GHz Cortex A9 processors and 1 GB of RAM. The system is ample for simple tasks like e-mails, games, web browsing, e-reading, videos and music. Furthermore, the high speed processor allows multiple applications to run at the same time without affecting the speed. The high end tablets which boast dual-core and quad-core processors are much faster and save more energy but they are much more costly.
The best feature about both Idolian Touchtab 10 and Zenithink C91 is that they support Google apps. Both the tablets come with pre-installed Google Market, which makes them convenient to use immediately.
Like other low-cost tablets, the screen quality is not very good. Both the Idolian Touchtab 10 and Zenithink C91 come with 10 inch 1024 x 600 resolution screens, which are not that bad, but most of the similar devices come with 1028 x 800 resolution screens. If compared with Kindle and Nook’s smaller tablets, their 7 inch screens have 1024 x 600 resolutions, so that could be considered a minus. But the screen is good enough to view documents and ebooks without scrolling up and down and users can enjoy high resolution games and books with no problem on the 1.98 pound devices.
Other notable features of the Idolian Touchtab 10 and Zenithink C91 include 8 GB of storage space which is expandable to 32 GB through the microSD card slot, HDMI port, 10-point capacitive touchscreen, front facing camera with 1.3 MP, Wi-Fi, Ethernet port, headphone jack, speakers, microphone, USB port and accelerometer. The battery life is not impressive as it lasts maximum 6 hours, Bluetooth and GPS are missing from the package, but on the whole the features are quite impressive for such price range.
The capacitive touchscreen makes them superior to similar tablets having resistive touch screens. The high end display allows users to enjoy multi-touch gaming and pinch zoom control. Another plus point is the Ethernet port which allows users to connect to the Internet, if Wi-Fi is not available or is slow.
All these features are not bad for 10-inch tablets boasting Google apps and Android 4.0 for just $169. If you do not want to buy a pricey high end tablet, the Idolian Touchtab 10 and Zenithink C91 are excellent alternatives to the expensive Android devices crowding the markets.
